Kaamospelit - folk music in Vantaa 2011

21st Kaamospelit, the Vantaa folk music week, is held 12.-20.11.2011. Program is quite Nordic this year. We are going to take influences from Nu-Nordic music scene also in forthcoming years. 	Saturday 12.11. at 11-14 Shopping center Tikkuri, Asematie 4-10 YHTÄ SOITTOA Folk music groups from Vantaa and the neighbour cities and groups from the Vantaa music institute perform in the shopping centre.
	Sunday 13.11. at 12 St. Lawrence's church (Pyhän Laurin kirkko), Kirkkotie 45 FOLK SONG CHURCH Church service, where the songs are sung to the melodies of familiar folk songs. In Finnish. 	Monday 14.11. at 19 St. Lawrence's church (Pyhän Laurin kirkko), Kirkkotie 45 CHURCH CONCERT Nord String Quartet NSQ is 2010 found new Finnish Swedish string quartet. They play peaces which combines the traditional music and camber music from Nordic countries. 	Friday 18.11. at 19 Påkas, Vanha kuninkaalantie 2 TUPASOITTO Vienan naisia and Duo Emilia Lajunen & Suvi Oskala Old singing and poetry from Karelia by Tellu Turkka (singing, Mora harp & udu) & Liisa Matveinen (singing & kantele). Strong 5-string fiddling by Emilia & Suvi. Tickets 10 € includes coffee
	Saturday 19.11. at 15 Children's' art house Toteemi, Myyrmäentie 6 CHILDRENS' CONCERT Kuninkaissa Kukkujat Traditional Finnish fairy tails accompanied with songs, playing and rhymes. 	Saturday 19.11. at19 Kilteri school, Iskostie 8 NORDIC NIGHT Emilia Amper and Vidar Skrede Dynamo Band Emilia Amper is the world champion of nyckelharpa playing 2010. 	Sunday 21.11. at 15 Viertola school, Liljatie 2 VANTAAN SOTTIISI Pelimanni Big Band (n.60 musicians) conducted by Pekka Pentikäinen ja Raimo Nummela, Vantaa music institute's accordion group conducted by Kimmo Kola, Espoon pelimannit conducted by Pekka Pentikäinen, Spelarit conducted by Patrik Weckman, Vantaan kansanpelimannit conducted by Raimo Nummela.
